Tips for making one's way

Downeast to Camden

From Boston, MA
 approx 4 hrs to Camden

Flying into Logan may be a cheaper flight for many airline carriers. Concord Bus Line is an option from Logan to Maine. Cape Air flight to Rockland, ME is a faster method with their 1 hr flight and then a taxi ride from Rockland to Camden (15-20 min). Budget and Enterprise rental cars are also an option.

BUS LINE

Concord Coach Lines; Taking the 4 hour bus journey up the coast from Boston is a great way to start your Maine experience. Drop off is at the Camden/Rockport town line at the Maritimes Gas Station. One only bus heads north or south daily. Drop off heading north is approx 3:30-4pmish. Call the Mary Day office days ahead to make arrangements for a pick up at the gas station (on boarding days only). Bus heading south is approx noonish - and we'll be glad to bring guests back to the gas station in time on the returning day. Schooner Bay Taxi  (207-594-5000) and Joe's Taxi (207-975-3560) are options for rides to Inns or Hotels.

Schooner Bay Taxi  (207-594-5000) or Joe's Taxi (207-975-3560)  are the services to use for local rides from Rockland to Camden.

Cape Air provides a 1-hour, 10-seater, shuttle flight, (up to 6 flights a day during the summer) from Boston's Logan Airport to Rockland ME. Landing at the Knox County Regional Airport in Rockland, guests use Schooner Bay Taxi  (207-975-3560) or Joe's Taxi (207-975-3560) for the short ride from Rockland to Camden. (15-20 min). 

CAR  RENTALS

Budget Car Rental located at the Knox County Regional Airport in Rockland/Owl's Head is convenient if flying in on Cape Air. Enterprise Car Rental; located in Thomaston, ME is approx 15-20 min from Camden. If returning a car before the start of your cruise or picking up a car at the end of a cruise, Schooner Bay Taxi  (207-594-5000) or Joe's Taxi (207-975-3560) are the services to use to get to and from the rental offices. Parking during a cruise is free at the town lot next to the Camden Police & Fire station, within walking distance to the Mary Day.

From Portland, ME
 approx 2 hrs to Camden

Flying into Portland is a leap closer than Boston's Logan Airport and a smaller airport to navigate. Concord Bus Line is an option from Portland to Camden. Budget and Enterprise rental cars are also an option.

VAN SHUTTLE SERVICE

Sterling Elite  (207-785-3100 by reservations only, contact at: reservations@sterlingelite) provides a van or car shuttle service along the coast of Maine. Pick up can be arranged at the bus or airport station and have them deliver you to the schooner or Inn. Door-to-door service with a friendly smile.
